Excellent tour around Doñana natural park, beautiful hidden places and despite not spotting the lynx (it is difficult) we could watch many birds and our guide Manu explained the every detail of the local wildlife. I would recommend this tour very much.

Where do I start?! I found Manu and Wild Donana online after seeing a review online about the company. I wanted to explore Cota Donana NP and in particular wanted an opportunity to see and photograph wildlfe. A few email exchanges and Manu kindly put together an itinerary which included pick up and drop off to Seville airport. Our tour was a five day full on trip from 15th to 19th November 2023 and we were picked up promptly by Fernando, our guide for the week. When I say guide, it cannot describe the expertise Fernando has in natural history, the environment, local knowledge of the area, mammals and to say he was a passionate birder would be an understatement. I would call Fernando, a rare find, more like a bird whisperer....he carried a phone with an app to call for birds as well as his trusted scope, which was a piece of magic and enable me to see birds that were invisible to the naked eye, it was incredible. I was exposed to thousands of birds, countless opportunities to photograph and observe nature.
A bit about Donana NP...It is a superhighway for migratory birds, with over 500,000 birds spending the winters there. The ecosystem is made up of marshlands, scrub, dunes and lagoons and I was able to see all the variety on offer. I have been on safari in Africa several times and never thought I would experience a similar feeling of seeing so many birds, but it was an eye opener to come across thousands of flamingos, gulls, flocks of spoonbills, glossy ibis, greylag geese, marble and teal ducks etc etc. On Day 2, we did a tour of the North and South of Donana NP which was conducted by the Park operator, called ''Donana nature'' and both parts of the park were well worth seeing to appreciate the different ecosystems.
The photos attached are all taken by me over those 5 days, but there are hundreds more, but this gives you an idea of the number of birds and animals there are. I stayed in El Rocio which deserves another review as it is a very fascinating town. Every day, Fernando drove us to different locations for the best vantage points and at our request, always found a great local restaurant where we could relax for lunch. There was no rush and we took our time to see whatever was offer. On our last day, Fernando pulled out a special surprise and took us to a place where raptors are seen....on cue, we got to a high place by mid day and by magic a flock of griffon vultures and a black vulture circled overhead. It was a great way to end the trip and it was truly sad to leave.
I wanted to write this long review, as just before the trip, I read a very negative review about Donana Park whereby the author had written they did not see a single sparrow and some mention of a horse with malnutrition, the week before our trip. I contacted Manu about my concerns and after speaking with him, he reasured me that we would see plenty of wildlife....I am so glad I did not postpone the trip and the photos confirm this. I never write any reviews, but was compelled to do so, not only to let people know that if you are a nature lover, a visit to Donana NP needs to be on your bucket list. Secondly, I want to thank Manu of wild Donana and his team for such a wonderful itinerary, great service and designating Fernando to us for a flawless, unforgettable trip....we are planning to go back in April 2024!

I did two wonderful 4hr birdwatching trips in Sept '23..The 1st was on marshland and coast around Isla Cristina, the 2nd on Odiel Marshes.
We were treated to lots of birds.
Elena was an excellent guide, so passionate about wildlife and very knowledgeable on local bird species. This was my 4th trip with Wild Donana.
I thoroughly recommend them and look forward to using them again.

Excellent day of bird watching around Donana National Park with very knowledgeable guide, Fernando. We saw about 80 species in a full days trip. Fernando was excellent at spotting and identifying everything while driving and missing the bumps. His passion for the birds was evident.

I arranged the trip in advance from the UK with Manu Mojarro who was very patient answering all my questions and very helpful explaining what we were likely to see. Exceeded my and my wife's expectations and we are not easy to please!

Thoroughly recommend this company and if I come back to this part of Spain would be very happy to use them again

I had an 8 hour tour booked with Manu. He already warned me in advance it’s the low season so mentally I was prepared for a potential low action day. In the end we spend a solid twelve hours for which Manu didn’t charge extra. The guide and owner (Manu) of the company is a very professional and knowledgeable person. Not only does he know a lot about birds but also about the various lynx in the area and other mammals, reptiles and as a bonus plenty of general historic information about the area from both an agricultural as well as a cultural perspective. All in all I had a very educational and pleasant day. We saw lots of birds and sadly missed the lynx but, that would have been an unexpected bonus anyhow. Perhaps good to know that Manu is fluent in English without an accent which may be helpful for some of the elder birdwatchers amongst us :p.

We had two tours with Elena to Doñana and Andévalo. She was very passionate about her job and her and our enthusiasm for birds worked contagious. Plus we saw a lot of birds 🙂
