I joined 3 friends who had been to Fantasia Adventure Holidays pre- Covid. I couldn’t wait to go and find out what they were enthusing about and the two year wait was frustrating.
I can’t put into words how much I enjoyed the riding and Barbate was a bonus. To have a swim in the sea was a first for ages.
My horse, Apollo had a fair turn of speed but equally sauntering through the scenery was so relaxing.
Living so far from the sea at home made the beach rides so exciting.
Caroline and Steve were great.
Caroline picked us up and took us back to Malaga airport, led the rides and took us for lunch and arranged the evening meals. She was good company and informative about the countryside and history of Cape Trafalgar but best of all the riding was so relaxed but built and reaffirmed confidence. Caroline was brilliant.
There were 4 of us but a solo traveller just blended into the group.
We’re already talking about next year.

Just returned from a 4 night stay at Barbate with Fantasia. Fantastic location for riding on forward going horses. Plenty of fast canters and some exhilarating beach gallops. Horses are well loved and cared for to a very good standard. Nice accomodation and food excellent. This is a real value for money holiday and would highly recommend. I hope to be back.

Just arrived home from the most amazing trip to Barbate Cadiz. This was my second riding holiday in Spain and it didn’t disappoint. We were welcomed on arrival to ensure we were all ok at the hotel and fed on our first evening. The next day we were taken to meet the horses and were well matched to our mounts. All the horses were well kept and lovely spirited rides. Perfect for our long daily 4 hour rides through forest, beach and coastal paths with plenty opportunities for long spacious gallops. We ate tapas lunches in local restaurants and felt like we had a proper Spanish experience. I would highly recommend anyone who loves horses to go here. However it’s definitely not for the novice rider. The hotel was also in a lovely location by the beach so afternoons were suitably relaxing and perfect to ensure after 4 hours in the saddle we were feeling fit and ready for the next day. Thanks again to Caroline and Steve we hope to be back sometime soon.?☀️

We’ve just returned from the most amazing few days riding at Fantasia Adventure Holidays.

The horses are all beautifully schooled and a genuine pleasure to ride. Forward going, yet very responsive and this makes for the most exhilarating riding experience.

The days are filled with beautiful scenery, from walking through the forests, to cantering on the coastal paths and galloping along the beach front. Followed by amazing tapas style lunches.

The afternoons leave you free to explore the local area and the evenings are spent in a great variety of restaurants. What could be better?

My 12 year old daughter came along with myself and a friend and Caroline was great with her - matching us all perfectly to our horses and providing well educated feedback on their riding styles. She is still in love with Romero and Apollo!

We have made the most amazing memories - thanks to the wonderful hosts - Caroline and Steve. We can’t wait to return!

A Fabulous holiday; safe, forward going, well-mannered horses; a beautiful location; well organised.

Highly recommended for competent horse riders.

I booked the eight day Holiday which included five days horse riding for my 16-year-old daughter and me.

The holiday exceeded expectations, and there were no surprises from what was explained on the web site. The core of the holiday involved five days horse riding in the spectacular Nature Forest and beaches of Barbate Andalucia. We were picked up at the hotel each morning and taken to the stables where our horses were tacked up and waiting for us.

Caroline, who is an experienced and competent horsewoman led the daily ride - safety of her clients is paramount. On two of the riding days we ventured onto beautiful beaches for an exciting gallop, and on the other three days we hacked out in the forest with the occasional Canter and Gallop.

It's not a trip for the novice rider as you will be sat in the saddle for a good four hours each day - mainly at walk with a good mix of Canter and Gallop.

Accommodation and Food.

Our accommodation was in the sea side town of Barbate. The hotel was clean and functional and served a simple and sufficient breakfast - think IBIS or similar. Barbate is a curious Spanish holiday resort orientated for Spanish families. Busy yet quiet and free from the typically boisterous English Holiday crowd. The beaches of the area are superb.

After riding each day, we were taken to a local taverna for a light lunch (all included in the cost of the holiday) and then taken back to the hotel where we spent the afternoon at our leisure.

At 8-00pm each evening Caroline met us and took us to a local restaurant, took our orders and settled the restaurant bill. For the non-Spanish speakers, this was helpful as Caroline provided translations to the menu. The evening meal was included in the price of the holiday, and there was an excellent choice of dishes. Speciality dishes are available at a small supplement.

Dinner was most enjoyable, and it gave an opportunity to discuss the day's riding and to get to know the other guests.

Transport

Included in the cost of the holiday was transport to and from Malaga Airport.

In summary, everything was catered for and the only decision that I had to make on this holiday was what flavour of Ice Cream to choose in the afternoon.

The owners of Fantasia Holidays are very approachable, and I'd suggest giving them a call if you have any questions - they will make sure that the holiday is suitable for you and that you have a very good time.
